Donald Trump faces low approval ratings in US and Europe

Recent YouGov polling indicates significant challenges for Donald Trump’s approval ratings both domestically in the United States and internationally across Europe.

In the United States, Trump holds a 35% approval rating with 60% of respondents disapproving, resulting in a net approval rating of -25. The data reveals sharp demographic divides: net approval is -31 among women compared to -18 among men, and -61 among Black voters compared to -15 among White voters. Economic concerns, specifically inflation, remain a primary driver of public sentiment.

Internationally, Trump faces high levels of unpopularity across much of Europe. In the United Kingdom, 83% of adults view him unfavourably. Denmark shows the highest disapproval at 94%, while Italy, Germany, and Spain also report significant negative sentiment. France recorded the highest favorability among the surveyed nations, though it remains at a net rating of -65. These tensions coincide with recent threats to cut trade with the European continent following discussions regarding Canada’s potential associate membership in the EU.
