Donald Trump faces renewed golf cheating allegations

Donald Trump’s recent announcement that he won the senior and super senior club championships at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster has reignited long-standing allegations of golf cheating. Trump, who posted a score of 70 on Truth Social, defended his performance by attributing his success to talent despite limited practice time.

The victory has brought renewed attention to claims made by boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya. In 2016, De La Hoya accused Trump of violating the rules of the game during a round at Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles. Specifically, De La Hoya alleged that Trump moved his ball from the rough into the fairway, failed to count strokes that landed in water hazards, and used a golf cart to race ahead of playing partners to reposition his ball.

De La Hoya characterized the alleged behavior as a reflection of character, stating, “Golf is a gentleman’s sport. You don’t lie about your score; you don’t lie about moving your ball.” Trump has consistently denied all accusations of cheating on the course.
