Reiner, a professor at George Washington University, noted that despite White House reassurances, the 80-year-old president has exhibited visible physical ailments, including prominent bruising on both hands, swelling in his legs, and episodes of daytime somnolence where he appears to struggle to stay awake.

Reiner questioned the necessity of recent medical evaluations involving 22 specialists and called for greater transparency. He suggested that Congress could use the 25th Amendment to establish an independent commission to assess the president's fitness for duty.

The White House has strongly dismissed these concerns, characterizing Reiner’s observations as politically motivated “armchair diagnosis.” Administration officials defended the president’s health, describing him as energetic and capable, and attributed the hand bruising to frequent handshaking and aspirin use.
