Donald Trump health speculation follows Oval Office video
Following a video recording of a meeting in the Oval Office, social media physiotherapist Adam James suggested that Donald Trump’s behavior may be indicative of dementia and ‘sundowning.’ James further speculated that the appearance of the former president's eyes could suggest the use of stimulants.
Medical experts note that dementia cannot be diagnosed based on public footage of a person appearing tired, closing their eyes, or dozing off, as these behaviors can result from sleep deprivation, medication, or other health issues. Regarding ‘sundowning,’ the Alzheimer’s Association defines it as increased confusion occurring from late afternoon to night in individuals with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia, often accompanied by disorientation or anxiety. It is not a synonym for general daytime sleepiness.
There is currently no evidence to support claims regarding the use of stimulants such as Adderall or Provigil, nor is there medical basis to conclude that brain atrophy is occurring based solely on video observations without neurological imaging and clinical examinations.
