Donald Trump hints at possible US military action against Cuba

In a recent interview, U.S. President Donald Trump suggested that a military operation against Cuba could be possible, drawing a comparison with recent actions in Venezuela. He noted that while Cuba lacks oil reserves, it boasts attractive property and beaches, and emphasized its geographic proximity to the United States versus the distance of Iran.

Trump said the United States is keeping all options open, but officials have indicated no immediate plan for an attack. He also referenced Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s expected involvement in any diplomatic efforts regarding Cuba. The comments have sparked debate among analysts and heightened existing tensions between Washington and Havana, which have already seen new sanctions and diplomatic pressure in recent months.
