Donald Trump jokes about presidents on kids' podcast for US 250th anniversary

Former President Donald Trump appeared as a guest on a children’s podcast hosted by Ousa Vance, the second lady, ahead of the United States’ 250th independence anniversary on July 4, 2026. During the episode, Trump read excerpts from the illustrated book “Presidents Play!” which highlights the favorite sports of past presidents such as Franklin Roosevelt, Grover Cleveland, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton.

Trump added sarcastic commentary about the weight of former presidents, joking that he might break the record for the heaviest president and wondering whether a swimming suit would fit him. He mentioned Richard Nixon’s bowling, William Taft’s baseball, and expressed doubt about Barack Obama’s basketball skills. He even suggested a fictional reunion of former presidents to play a soccer match. When asked about his message to children for the July 4 holiday, Trump said America is a “tremendous country” currently at a “small crossroads,” promising to choose the right direction and make the nation “greater than ever.”
