Trump Media launches Truth API, paid early‑access service for Wall Street
Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) launched a paid data feed called Truth API on August 1, 2026. The service gives subscribing banks, hedge funds and algorithmic trading firms millisecond‑level early access to posts on the president’s Truth Social platform, delivering the content before it becomes publicly available.
Subscription fees are reported to range from US $60,000 to US $100,000 per month, a price that could generate roughly US $500,000 a month (about US $6 million annually). At least five Wall Street firms signed up shortly after launch, and TMTG expects the feed to become a “meaningful, ongoing source of revenue.”
Critics, including Senators Mark Warner, Elizabeth Warren and Adam Schiff, have called the arrangement “outrageous abuse” and introduced legislation – the Stop Corrupt Trading Act (S. 5221) – to bar a president or any company in which the president holds at least 5 % from selling non‑public information. Donald Trump owns roughly 41 % of TMTG, raising concerns about a conflict of interest as his posts can move markets on topics such as tariffs, wars and energy policy.
