Donald Trump leads Republican admiration poll over Reagan and Lincoln

A poll conducted by Elon University and analyzed by CNN indicates that Donald Trump is the most admired president among registered Republicans. According to the data, 53% of Republican respondents named Trump as the president they admire most, significantly outpacing other historical figures.

Ronald Reagan received 18% of the responses, while Abraham Lincoln trailed at 8%. Additionally, a separate Elon University poll found that 29% of Republicans consider Trump the best president in history, compared to 25% for Lincoln and 14% for George Washington.

Analyst Harry Enten noted the results in the context of Republican primary successes, observing that Trump-endorsed candidates have maintained a 100% win rate in 2026 Senate races. The data suggests Trump remains a central figure within the GOP.
