Donald Trump made over 3,600 stock trades in the first quarter of 2026
President Donald Trump’s investment accounts recorded 3,642 securities transactions between Jan. 6 and March 30, 2026, according to a 113‑page Form 278‑T filing with the U.S. Office of Government Ethics. The trades included 2,346 purchases and 1,296 sales, with portfolio values ranging from roughly $220 million to $695 million. Holdings spanned more than 1,000 firms, notably large purchases of Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, Oracle and Broadcom.
The disclosures have sparked a bipartisan ethics backlash. Critics argue that a sitting president maintaining an active trading portfolio creates a conflict of interest and raises questions about insider information. Senate Democrat Elizabeth Warren called for an investigation into possible insider trading. The filing does not identify which account executed each trade or who made the decisions, and the White House has referred questions to the Trump Organization, highlighting gaps in current transparency safeguards.
