Kimberly Greenwood nominated as U.S. Ambassador to Barbados

President Donald Trump has nominated Kimberly Greenwood to serve as the United States Ambassador to Barbados. If confirmed by the Senate, she will also serve as the top envoy to several Eastern Caribbean nations, including Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, without additional compensation.

Kimberly Greenwood, a former Miss Tennessee USA, has a long-standing professional connection to the President, having worked with him for 18 years during his ownership of the Miss Universe Organization, where she directed state-level beauty pageants. She is the wife of Lee Greenwood, the singer of the patriotic anthem ‘God Bless the USA’, which has frequently been used as the President’s walk-on music at political events.

The nomination is part of a broader list of diplomatic and judicial appointments submitted to the Senate. The appointment follows a historical pattern where presidents appoint political supporters or donors to various ambassadorships.
