Donald Trump nominates officials for religious freedom roles

President Donald Trump has nominated several individuals to key positions focused on religious liberty. Cissie Graham Lynch, granddaughter of Billy Graham, has been nominated to serve as the ambassador at large for international religious freedom.

Additionally, the President has named Catholic Bishop Robert Barron, evangelical pastor Andrew Brunson, and former Domestic Policy Council director Joe Grogan to the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF). These appointments complete the commission’s full nine-member bipartisan complement, which is divided by law between presidential appointees, Senate leadership, and House leadership.
