Donald Trump Ordered to Remove Name from Kennedy Center After Court Ruling

A federal judge ruled that only Congress can change the name of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, ordering the removal of President Donald Trump’s name from the venue’s branding within two weeks. The Kennedy Center’s general counsel issued a memo to staff directing updates to signage, email signatures, letterhead and social‑media accounts to reflect the name “The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.”

In a separate appellate hearing over the White House ballroom project, Department of Justice lawyers told a three‑judge panel that the administration’s unchecked authority could even allow it to “bulldoze” the Statue of Liberty, highlighting concerns about the president’s recent alterations to federal landmarks, including the Kennedy Center name change.
