Donald Trump: Pardon lobbying markets and meeting with NYC Mayor

An investigation by CBS News has revealed the emergence of a shadow market in the United States, where lobbyists and former officials act as intermediaries to secure presidential pardons. In one instance, lobbyists Jack Berckman and Jacob Wall reportedly sought a $300,000 fee from Amon Kovino, a convicted businessman, to use political connections to influence Donald Trump into granting him clemency.

Reports suggest that some intermediaries may command fees as high as $3 million to facilitate access to the President or his inner circle. This practice highlights a growing industry of political influence surrounding the White House.

In a separate political development, Donald Trump met with New York City Mayor Zoran Mamdani at Gracie Mansion. Despite their previous political clashes and differing ideologies, Trump expressed optimism regarding Mamdani’s leadership, stating he believes the Mayor has ‘great potential’ and hopes he succeeds in his term.
