Donald Trump plans 2026 trips to Turkey and China

President Donald Trump announced at a press conference on Joint Base Andrews that he will travel to Turkey later in 2026 and make a second visit to China that year. The remarks were made while unveiling a Qatar‑gifted Boeing 747 intended to join the Air Force One fleet.

Trump said President Xi Jinping is expected in Washington in September and that the U.S. will attend a major conference in China. He referenced his May visit to Beijing with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, noting no concrete trade agreements emerged from that trip.
