Donald Trump posts AI‑generated image of himself on Mount Rushmore
President Donald Trump shared an AI‑generated picture on his Truth Social platform that places his likeness alongside the four historic presidents carved into Mount Rushmore. The image was posted without any caption, prompting both supporters and critics to comment on the visual.
Trump has long expressed a desire to be added to the monument, first mentioning the idea in 2018 to South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem and again in a 2020 public address. Legislative interest has followed, with Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna introducing a bill that would direct the Department of the Interior to explore carving Trump’s face on the granite. Interior Secretary Doug Burgur also suggested the rock face might have space for an additional figure. No new carvings have been added to Mount Rushmore since its completion in 1941, and any modification would pose significant engineering challenges.
