U.S. President Donald Trump is preparing for an upcoming visit to Ireland on September 12 and 13, which includes stops in Dublin and Doonbeg, County Clare. The visit is expected to coincide with the Irish Open Golf tournament at the International Golf Links resort.

Logistical challenges have emerged regarding the presidential entourage, which could include up to 1,000 people, including approximately 200 Secret Service officers. Local officials report a significant shortage of hotel rooms in the Mid-West region due to the influx of security personnel, government aides, and an estimated 75,000 golf fans.

In preparation for high-level travel and public appearances, security measures have been significantly heightened. Recent security protocols for the President have included the deployment of Avenger Air Defense Systems—Humvees equipped with short-range missiles capable of targeting drones and aircraft—at his golf course in New Jersey. Additionally, NORAD F-16 jets have been utilized to intercept aircraft violating temporary flight restrictions over his locations.
