Donald Trump proposes direct contact with Iran's Supreme Leader
Donald Trump has reportedly proposed establishing direct contact or a meeting with Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, to resolve remaining disputes between Washington and Tehran. According to diplomatic sources, this message was delivered via Pakistan's Army Chief, General Asim Munir, during a recent visit to Tehran, where it was conveyed to Mohsen Rezaee, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council.
The initiative is viewed as a potential final opportunity to prevent a new cycle of military tensions. However, sources describe this diplomatic outreach as occurring alongside military threats, noting that the proposal comes with warnings regarding the potential escalation of US and Israeli military actions if Tehran does not respond favorably to mediation efforts currently being drafted by Qatar.
This diplomatic move coincides with intensified economic pressures on Iran, including increased trade restrictions at land crossings, US sanctions, and maritime blockades of Iranian ports.
