Donald Trump questions Claudia Sheinbaum's background

During a campaign rally in South Carolina, U.S. President Donald Trump questioned the professional and academic background of Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum. Trump remarked, “I don't know how the hell she went from dancer to president of Mexico,” while noting she has a “beautiful voice.”

Sheinbaum’s academic and professional history includes a degree in physics, as well as master's and doctoral degrees in energy engineering. She previously served as a researcher at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and was a member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007. Her political career includes serving as the Secretary of the Environment for Mexico City and being a founding member of the Morena party.
