Donald Trump ranks himself as ‘The Greatest’ US president

Donald Trump has released an updated personal ranking of United States presidents via his Truth Social platform, placing himself alone in the highest category, labeled ‘The Greatest’. In his list, he ranks ahead of historical figures such as Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Thomas Jefferson.

Trump’s ranking includes several additions since his previous version, such as Ronald Reagan, John F. Kennedy, and George W. Bush. Notably, he placed Reagan in the ‘Near Great’ category, alongside figures like Theodore Roosevelt and Dwight D. Eisenhower. Conversely, Trump categorized Joe Biden, Jimmy Carter, and Barack Obama as ‘unsuccessful’, while Bill Clinton was labeled ‘average’.

Academic assessments offer a starkly different perspective. According to the Presidential Greatness Project, which surveyed 154 academics, Trump ranked 45th out of 45 presidents with a score of 10.92 out of 100. In that study, Abraham Lincoln secured the top position with an average score of 93.87. Historians note that Trump’s list appears to be a modified version of a 1948 list by Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr., which lacked many modern presidents.
