Donald Trump reinvests crypto profits in traditional assets and touts North Sea oil expansion

Federal disclosure shows former U.S. President Donald Trump earned more than $1.4 billion from cryptocurrency ventures, including the World Liberty Financial platform and the Trump meme‑coin, in 2023. Analysts note that a large portion of those proceeds was placed into conventional securities, with his publicly reported stock and bond holdings rising up to fourfold to a range of $730 million–$2.6 billion.

Trump also continues to hold significant amounts of digital tokens, reporting ownership of over 157 million governance tokens from World Liberty and cryptocurrency holdings valued at several million dollars. Experts interpret the reallocation as evidence that he does not rely on crypto as a primary store of value.

Separately, Trump used his Truth Social platform to praise the prospective full‑scale development of the North Sea oil fields, asserting it would lift the United Kingdom out of poverty and make it one of the world’s wealthiest nations. He criticized the UK’s purchase of Norwegian oil and suggested the removal of offshore wind turbines, commenting ahead of the incoming Labour prime minister’s tenure.
