Donald Trump removes AI image following blasphemy accusations

Donald Trump recently removed an AI-generated image that depicted him as Jesus Christ healing a patient in a hospital bed. The image, which also included American patriotic and military symbols, drew accusations of blasphemy from Catholic and Evangelical leaders.

While Trump has historically maintained strong support among Evangelical voters, recent polling suggests a slight decline in approval. In 2016, Trump received 65 percent of the Evangelical vote, which rose to 72 percent in 2024. However, a recent poll by PBS News, NPR, and Marist indicates that Evangelical approval of his actions currently stands at 66 percent.
