Trump renovates White House Rose Garden with stone patio and statues

President Donald Trump is undergoing extensive renovations at the White House, including a significant redesign of the Rose Garden. The traditional grass lawn has been replaced with a white stone patio, creating an aesthetic similar to his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

In place of new plantings, the garden now features several statues of American founding figures. The collection includes depictions of George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and Ben Franklin, as well as a sculpture titled “Freedom’s Charge.” A recent addition is a bronze statue of Thomas Jefferson signing the Declaration of Independence, gifted by Colorado sculptor George Lundeen.

These changes are part of a broader series of White House alterations, which include a redesigned Oval Office and the construction of a new ballroom and helipad on the south grounds. The president's projects also extend to plans for a statue garden on federal land near the National Mall.
