Donald Trump reportedly uses Houthi rebels to pressure Saudi Arabia

Reports suggest a geopolitical strategy involving Donald Trump aims to pressure Saudi Arabia into a recognition and alliance agreement with Israel. This scenario reportedly involves a complex arrangement with the Houthi rebels in Yemen.

According to information cited by journalist Karem Elliot House regarding Renters agency reports, a meeting between Trump associates and the Houthis allegedly resulted in a deal: the Houthis would refrain from attacking American and Israeli vessels in exchange for a promise that Washington would not directly strike their positions. However, the Houthis would be permitted to continue targeting Saudi Arabian interests.

This development occurs as the Tehran-funded Houthi rebels control western Yemen and pose a significant threat to the Bab-el-Mandeb strait, a critical chokepoint for global energy transport. The strategy appears intended to push Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman toward closer ties with Israel.
