President Donald Trump is actively reshaping the physical landscape of Washington, D.C., through various construction and development projects. Recent changes include the installation of a new helipad on the South Lawn and ongoing ballroom excavations near the East Room, which were permitted by the Supreme Court.

A federal judge, Ana Reyes, recently approved the administration’s plan to replace a public golf course with a championship course modeled after the president’s own. The project has faced opposition from preservationists and bicyclists due to the removal of 150 trees, including Japanese cherry trees. The Justice Department defended the removals, stating that 77 trees were invasive and 73 were dead, dying, or hazardous.
