Donald Trump Says Vladimir Putin Ready to End Ukraine War

Former U.S. President Donald Trump told Fox News that he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin is prepared to reach a deal ending the war in Ukraine and that such an agreement could come “soon.” Trump said he repeatedly tells Putin, “Vladimir, it’s time to stop,” adding that “it takes two people to dance the tango, but I think he’s ready to make a deal.” He also indicated he will decide shortly on a bipartisan sanctions bill against Russia originally drafted by the late Senator Lindsey Graham.

The comments, reported by Reuters and other outlets, came amid ongoing diplomatic efforts that have yet to produce a breakthrough. While the United States continues to push for negotiations, Moscow’s public stance remains that any peace talks must meet conditions Kyiv and its Western partners deem unacceptable, and fighting on the ground persists.
