Donald Trump shares video of fatal tiger attack and AI parody

William Chapman, a 23-year-old British man and former child actor, died on October 10 after entering a tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park in South Yorkshire, England. Witnesses reported that Chapman, who reportedly suffered from a severe mental illness and was taking strong medication, climbed down from a viewing platform into the habitat of Altai, an Amur tiger. The tiger attacked Chapman, and despite the efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the incident, U.S. President Donald Trump faced intense criticism after sharing footage of the fatal attack on his Truth Social platform, accompanied by the caption, “Don’t ever mess with nature!” Trump also posted an AI-generated video depicting himself wrestling and eventually embracing a tiger. He further shared a compilation of various big cat attacks set to upbeat music.

The family of the deceased has condemned the circulation of the footage, describing the media content as “deeply offensive” and stating that it has caused them “severe distress” during an exceptionally vulnerable time. South Yorkshire Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the death. The Yorkshire Wildlife Park confirmed that the tiger, Altai, was not injured and will not be euthanized.
