Donald Trump sparks social media speculation during Marine One tour with Xi Jinping

During a state visit on Thursday, September 24, Donald Trump gave Chinese President Xi Jinping a tour of Marine One. During the tour, a rigid, boxy bulge was visible beneath the back of Trump’s suit jacket, prompting widespread speculation and jokes on social media.

Observers and critics suggested various explanations for the protrusion, including medical devices, orthopedic equipment, back support braces, or ballistic armor. Some social media users also joked that the shape was related to adult diapers or even suggested his aide, Natalie Harp, was hiding under the suit. The footage, shared by journalist Aaron Rupar, drew reactions from groups such as the Lincoln Project.
