Trump considers relocating White House press corps

President Donald Trump has indicated he may relocate the White House press corps to a different location, suggesting he might move reporters to a “less obnoxious location.” This follows reports that he had previously urged former press secretary Karoline Leavitt to move briefings out of the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room.

Trump used his Truth Social platform to deny reports that he intended to abolish the briefing room to restore a historic indoor swimming pool located beneath the site. He dismissed the idea of restoring the pool, which was installed during the Franklin D. Roosevelt administration and later replaced by the Nixon administration, as “Fake News” and “stupid.”

The comments arrive amid ongoing tensions between the administration and the media. Last month, the White House briefly barred journalists from CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the grounds. A federal judge subsequently ruled that the ban was likely unconstitutional, forcing the administration to restore access, though the administration continues to legally challenge that decision.
