Donald Trump threatens Iran at UN General Assembly

During the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York, U.S. President Donald Trump delivered a forceful speech regarding the conflict with Iran. Trump stated that his administration's objective is to prevent Tehran from developing nuclear weapons, warning that he might ‘crush the Islamic Republic to pieces’ if a deal to end the conflict is not reached.

Trump expressed confidence that a peace agreement could be reached following the U.S. midterm elections on November 3. He called for international cooperation to economically isolate Iran to force them back to the negotiating table, asserting that ‘Iran will never possess nuclear weapons.’

Separately, Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul attended the assembly to discuss Thailand's future as a regional trade and economic hub in ASEAN. He highlighted Thailand's readiness for energy transition and its goal to join the OECD. When questioned by reporters regarding domestic political developments involving Thammanat Prompow, the Prime Minister declined to comment, stating he was focused on his diplomatic mission in New York.
