Donald Trump Threatens U.S. Military Action Against Cuba, Citing Venezuela Raid

President Donald Trump said a potential U.S. operation in Cuba could be similar to the swift raid that captured Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro in Caracas earlier this year. In an interview with Axios, he described the timing as “flexible” and mentioned Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s involvement in Cuba policy.

Former intelligence officers in the Veterans Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS) warned that any invasion of Cuba would end in defeat, stating: “A potential invasion of Cuba would result in a lost war.” The remarks come amid escalating U.S. sanctions that have deepened Cuba’s economic crisis, causing blackouts, shortages and protests across the island.
