Donald Trump and Michael Cohen stage public reconciliation on radio

Donald Trump and his former attorney, Michael Cohen, have staged a public reconciliation during a friendly radio interview on Cohen’s WABC program. The conversation marks a significant shift in their relationship, which collapsed after Cohen testified against Trump in the 2024 criminal hush-money trial that led to Trump’s conviction on 34 felony counts.

During the interview, Trump praised Cohen for recanting his previous testimony, stating, “I respect the fact that you recanted everything you said,” and suggested that prosecutors had “weaponized” Cohen. Cohen, who previously called Trump a “fraud” and a “racist,” referred to the former president as “boss” and spoke about the importance of forgiveness.

Cohen is currently seeking a presidential pardon for his 2018 convictions involving tax evasion, bank fraud, and campaign finance violations. He indicated he intends to follow up with the Department of Justice regarding his pending application.
