Trump to mark 9/11 25th anniversary at Pentagon

President Donald Trump will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks at the Pentagon rather than attending the memorial service at Ground Zero in New York City.

Reports indicate that the decision stems from Trump’s desire to deliver remarks at the World Trade Center site. However, the National September 11 Memorial & Museum has maintained a policy since 2012 prohibiting politicians from giving speeches at the ceremony to ensure the event remains nonpartisan and focused on the victims.

While Trump will observe the anniversary at the Pentagon, where political leaders are permitted to speak, Vice President JD Vance is expected to represent the administration at the New York City ceremony. Other expected attendees at the Ground Zero event include former presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama. Trump is also scheduled to travel to Ireland shortly after the commemorations to attend a golf tournament.
