Trump announces 32-day campaign tour ahead of US midterm elections

President Donald Trump has announced a 32-day multi-state campaign tour ahead of the November midterm elections, targeting states such as Texas and Ohio. The upcoming elections are viewed as a referendum on his second term and will determine control of Congress.

Despite a Wall Street Journal poll placing his approval rating at 37 percent and public dissatisfaction regarding the cost of living and the conflict with Iran, Trump expressed optimism and denied that Republican candidates are distancing themselves from his administration. To bolster the GOP, the Republican National Committee has scheduled rallies in Oklahoma and Alabama, while MAGA Inc. has pledged millions in funding for Senate battleground races.

In response to Republican accusations of socialism, sixty Democratic candidates, including ten members of Congress, have signed a pledge with the Promise to America group to explicitly declare their support for capitalism. Meanwhile, economic data from the Department of Commerce shows the U.S. economy grew at an annualized rate of 2.2 percent in the second quarter of 2026, outperforming previous estimates.
