Donald Trump urges supporters to use mail-in voting for midterms

President Donald Trump has shifted his long-standing stance on mail-in voting, now urging his supporters to utilize early voting and mail-in ballots for the upcoming midterm elections on November 3.

Despite previously labeling mail-in voting as ‘inherently corrupt’ and a source of fraud, Trump released a video encouraging Republicans to vote by any means necessary, including by mail. During a press conference at the White House, he noted that while he prefers in-person voting, supporters can use mail-in options because many people desire that method.

This change in rhetoric comes as Republicans face challenging polling data. A Reuters/Ipsos poll indicates Trump's approval rating is at 32%, and registered voters currently favor Democrats 44% to 37% for the midterms. Additionally, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has directed military members to take a day off to vote.
