Donald Trump uses physical appearance to endorse Republican candidates

During a campaign rally in Kentucky, President Donald Trump introduced a new endorsement strategy for Republican candidates by focusing on their physical attractiveness. Referring to U.S. House candidate and former Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein, Trump described him as a “beautiful guy” who looked like he was chosen through “central casting.”

Trump also commented on the appearance of Ohio Senator Jon Husted, whom he described as a “perfect person” and a “good-looking guy.” During his remarks, Trump jokingly detailed a close physical assessment of Husted, noting he had examined his shoulders, feet, hands, and jawline.

This focus on aesthetics comes amidst the 2026 midterm elections, which will determine whether Republicans maintain control of Congress. Not all candidates received such praise; Trump previously criticized the appearance of Texas Senate candidate Ken Paxton, though he noted that Paxton’s conservative record as attorney general remains significant.
