Donald Trump uses slur to attack South Carolina Senate candidate

Donald Trump used an anti-transgender slur to attack Democratic Senate candidate Dr. Annie Andrews in a Truth Social post on Monday. The post, which used a version of the slur three times, targeted Andrews as she competes in the South Carolina Senate race against Republican Darline Graham.

Trump has been actively supporting Graham, the sister of the late Senator Lindsey Graham. His MAGA Inc. PAC has spent more than $800,000 to assist her campaign. The race, once considered a safe Republican victory, was recently reclassified by the Cook Political Report as ‘likely Republican’ rather than ‘solidly Republican.’

Republican critics have previously targeted Andrews regarding her stance on transgender issues, specifically her past support for hormone treatments for children. Andrews has clarified that she does not support gender-identity surgery for minors.
