Donald Trump warns United Kingdom of energy and immigration crises

Donald Trump has warned that the United Kingdom is on the verge of a disaster, citing critical issues regarding immigration and energy costs. In an interview with GB News, the former U.S. President criticized current British domestic policies, specifically targeting the transition toward net-zero carbon neutrality.

Trump argued that the push for clean energy is driving energy costs to three or four times their natural rates, harming the British economy. He advocated for the exploitation of North Sea oil and gas reserves instead of relying on expensive alternative sources. This comes as the government of Prime Minister Andy Burnham considers moving forward with major North Sea oil projects to balance climate commitments with economic stability.

Regarding immigration, Trump described the influx of people as a “huge problem” that is rapidly changing the face of the country. He stated, “If you don't stop the flow of people into your country from all over the world, you won't have a country left.” These comments touch on highly sensitive issues in the UK, particularly illegal crossings via small boats, which have contributed to the political rise of right-wing movements like Nigel Farage’s Reform Party.
