Trump open to Chinese automakers building plants in the U.S
President Donald Trump has indicated he would be open to Chinese automakers establishing manufacturing plants within the United States, provided they employ American workers. During an interview on Fox News, Trump compared this potential model to Japanese automakers who operate domestic plants and contribute to local employment.
However, the President drew a strict boundary against Chinese companies using Mexico as a manufacturing hub to export vehicles into the U.S. market to circumvent existing tariffs.
