A Civiqs online‑tracking poll released on 30 July 2025 shows President Donald Trump’s national approval at 36 % and disapproval at 59 %, giving him a net rating of –24. The poll has gathered more than 120 000 responses from registered voters since 20 January 2025.

The same survey finds that in at least eleven states that Trump carried by double‑digit margins in the 2024 election, his approval rating is now negative. Those states had previously been his strongest Republican strongholds.

The decline comes as the 2026 midterm elections approach, where even modest shifts in these states could influence control of the U.S. House and Senate. The trend follows Trump’s April 2025 announcement of tariffs on U.S. trade partners.
