Donald Trump’s International Approval Plummets in 2026 Pew Survey

A Pew Research Center poll of 42,151 adults in 36 nations found a median of only 23 % of respondents expressing confidence in President Donald Trump’s handling of world affairs. Favorable views of the United States declined sharply, with double‑digit drops in Indonesia, Italy, Nigeria, South Africa, South Korea and Turkey, while Israel gave the highest rating at 81 %. The share of people viewing the U.S. as a reliable partner fell dramatically, exemplified by Canada’s drop from 83 % in 2022 to 35 % in 2026. Trump also received low marks on key foreign‑policy issues such as tariffs, Gaza, Iran, Greenland and the Russia‑Ukraine war.

On 22 June 2026, Trump held a press briefing in the Oval Office, answering reporters’ questions on Iran, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, UK opposition leader Keir Starmer and other topics, in a video broadcast by CBS News.
