Donald Trump’s Midterm Strategy Raises Concern for GOP

Donald Trump is actively preparing for the upcoming U.S. midterm elections. According to a post on the Operation Disclosure platform, he plans to sign the Secure America Act, which would fully fund ICE and the Department of Homeland Security, and tie these agencies to election‑security measures. The same source says Trump expects lower gas prices, a rising stock market, and hopes to conclude Middle‑East operations before the vote, aiming to create positive optics for Republican candidates.

In a separate report, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R‑LA) and political commentator John Bresnahan noted that Trump’s recent comments, including an “I love inflation” remark, have become the biggest issue for Republicans on Capitol Hill. Bresnahan said “every Republican just winced,” adding that voters are focused on affordability and that Trump’s focus on other topics is damaging the GOP’s prospects in the midterms.
