Donald Trump’s Name Stripped from Kennedy Center Amid $60 M White House MMA Celebration

A federal court ruled that the Kennedy Center in Washington cannot rename the venue without congressional approval, prompting staff to remove former President Donald Trump’s name from the building less than six months after it was added. The decision required the removal by the end of the previous day, and the Center also took down the name from its website.

Separately, Trump is planning a $60 million Mixed Martial Arts arena on the White House’s south lawn to mark his 80th birthday and the United States’ 250th independence anniversary. The event is expected to host 4,000 invited guests, half of them military personnel, and a fan‑zone for over 100,000 spectators. Critics argue the spectacle is a waste of resources amid rising living costs and have filed a lawsuit claiming the government illegally granted public land for personal enrichment. The White House denies the allegations.
