Donald Trump's participation trophy installed in New York City
A 10‑foot gold trophy created by the anonymous art collective Secret Handshake was moved from Washington’s National Mall to Foley Square in lower Manhattan. The plaque on the trophy sarcastically awards President Donald J. Trump a “participation trophy” for his “enthusiastic involvement in the Iran War.” The installation, placed a block from the courthouse where Trump was convicted on hush‑money charges, invites the public to add their own trophies, ribbons and messages. organizers say the display is meant to mock the president’s foreign‑policy stance while encouraging New Yorkers to voice their dissent.
The artwork has drawn online debate and criticism from officials, but remains up for several days, being removed each night and re‑erected each morning.
