Donald Trump’s PSA Spike and Missing Hair‑Loss Drug Prompt Health Scrutiny
Donald Trump’s latest White House medical report omitted the hair‑loss medication finasteride (Propecia), a drug he has taken for years. At the same time, his prostate‑specific antigen (PSA) test result rose dramatically, increasing tenfold over the past year. Medical experts have warned that stopping finasteride can be linked to depression, anxiety and sexual dysfunction. Columbia University psychiatrist Robert Klitzman said, “It raises significant questions of what else is possibly not being revealed.”
Dr. Jonathan Reiner of the University of Miami asked, “Did he stop taking the drug, or is he still taking it and now there’s something going on with his prostate?” The White House responded that the report includes all clinically relevant medications and that no additional undisclosed conditions materially affect the president’s health. The controversy revives longstanding concerns about the transparency of presidential health disclosures.
