Donald Trump’s support among US men falls to record low

A recent Economist/YouGov poll of 1,604 adults conducted from 29 May to 1 June 2026 shows that President Donald Trump’s approval among men stands at 38 percent, with 59 percent disapproving – a net rating of –21, the lowest point in his second term. The net rating has slid from a +16 score early in 2025 to –21, a drop of 37 points. Men were a pivotal demographic in Trump’s 2024 victory, and the sharp decline raises concerns about his electoral prospects ahead of the November midterm elections.

The poll’s margin of error is ±3.5 percentage points. The trend follows a steady erosion of male support that began in 2025 after an initial surge, signalling a potentially vulnerable voter base for the president.
