Donald Trump’s Support Plummets Among Young Voters, Polls Show

CNN data analyst Harry Enten reported a dramatic decline in former President Donald Trump’s approval among voters under 50, with a swing of roughly 38 points to a net -41‑point rating in recent CNN polling. By contrast, the shift among voters 50 and older was less than half as large, under 15 points.

The shift has widened Democratic advantages in generic House match‑up polls. The Democratic lead among under‑50 voters grew from four points in the 2024 fall to 17 points now, and among the most motivated young voters the lead expanded to about 46 points. Enten warned that the swing could translate into a wave election favoring Democrats in the upcoming midterms.
