Donald Tusk faces PiS accusations while steering health reform in Poland

Jarosław Kaczyński, leader of the Law and Justice (PiS) party, accused Prime Minister Donald Tusk of pursuing a plan he called “Poland for sale.” Kaczyński said Tusk’s nominee at the state‑controlled Solino company used aggressive tactics to silence protests by workers, alleging the move aims to hand strategic assets, including a salt‑storage facility, to German interests.

At the same time, Health Minister Jolanta Sobierańska‑Grenda presented a package of reforms, introducing e‑registration, e‑queues, tighter wage controls and penalties for breaches of patients’ collective rights. Analysts note Tusk is adopting a “wait‑and‑see” approach, creating a political buffer ahead of upcoming elections, while keeping the minister in post. Experts say the reform agenda could become a key issue in the campaign, and the prime minister may intervene if the changes stall.
