Donald Tusk reflects on personal history and shipyard legacy

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk shared personal reflections during recent public appearances. While attending the school year inauguration at School Complex No. 1 in Wieluń, Tusk spoke to students about his professional background as a teacher and a period in his youth when he sold pastries at the Gdańsk railway station due to a work ban.

In a separate message regarding the Gdańsk Shipyard, Tusk reflected on the historical significance of the site and the August strikes. He recalled his involvement in organizing an illegal demonstration in 1979 alongside Lech Wałęsa and Bogdan Borusewicz. Tusk emphasized the lessons learned from the shipyard workers, stating that one must be able to distinguish good from evil and call truth by its name when faced with corruption.
