Donato Carrisi Leads Italian Summer Audiobook Rankings on Audible
Italian author Donato Carrisi, a native of Martina Franca in Puglia, was identified as the most listened‑to writer during the summer months on Audible from 2016 through 2026. The finding comes from a NielsenIQ study commissioned by Audible, Amazon’s audio‑entertainment platform.
Carrisi’s thriller, noir and crime titles – including L’uomo del labirinto, La casa senza ricordi, La casa delle luci, and L’educazione delle farfalle – topped the charts, with narrations by Alberto Angrisano and Angela Brusa. The research also showed that Italians cite audiobooks for relaxation (45 %), to beat boredom (47 %) and to “read” without eye strain (58 %).
The report highlighted the broader popularity of crime‑genre audio content on Italian beaches, noting other regional authors such as Gianrico Carofiglio, but Carrisi’s sustained presence across ten consecutive summers establishes him as the leading voice in the country’s summer audio‑entertainment market.
