Donaueschingen to host 10th International Youth Band Meeting in 2027

Donaueschingen will host the 10th International Youth Band Meeting (IJKT) from May 6 to 9, 2027. The festival is expected to bring together approximately 2,000 young musicians from various countries.

Susanne Bader, education officer for the BDB-Bläserjugend, describes the event as a unique blend of musical quality and international exchange. The four-day festival will feature high-level competitions, workshops, indoor and open-air concerts, and social events designed to foster friendships among participants.

Highlights of the anniversary edition include plaza concerts throughout the city center and a large-scale flashmob involving all participating orchestras. The city was selected for its strong musical tradition and the facilities provided by the Donauhallen concert halls.
